Answering Your Biggest Questions About Face Fillers in Dallas
Facial fillers, also known as dermal fillers, are one of the most popular aesthetic treatments as a quick and easy injectable that can dramatically improve your skin’s appearance. If you have areas of hollowness, wrinkles, and aging skin that you want to appear more plump and youthful, consider dermal fillers!
On the flip side, you don’t have to be concerned about signs of aging for dermal fillers to be a great treatment match for you. We can use dermal fillers to enhance, define, and contour specific features for a transformative look—all without surgery. With so many brand options, providers, and types of treatments, it’s no wonder we receive so many filler FAQs at Spa in the City!

A quick introduction to dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that provide a host of potential benefits. These formulations work in the underlying dermal layers to restore support that your skin loses because of collagen depletion. The dermal filler fills in the gaps in the skin’s structure to smooth away wrinkles and add youthful fullness to nearly any area of the face!
Below we cover some of the most common face filler questions we receive 👇
Dermal Filler FAQs | Face Fillers in Dallas
How long do fillers last?
How long fillers last for you depends on several factors: filler brand, treatment area(s), amount you receive, and how fast your body metabolizes them.
While we have plenty of information on how long each brand’s fillers typically last, it’s pretty unique between each client.
Some clients find their filler does not last as long as they’d hoped because their body metabolizes it at a faster-than-average rate. Others can go longer between maintenance treatments.
How long fillers last by brand:
Because each filler brand has its own unique formula and benefits, how long filler lasts varies.
Bellafill is FDA-cleared for 5 years, however, in many people the results are even longer!
Juvederm can last up to 12 months, although 6-9 is more realistic and individual results will vary
Radiesse lasts approximately 12-18 months.
Restylane products will last for different amounts of time. Restylane Defyne, Refyne, and Lyft all last around 9-12 months. Restylane Silk lasts between 3-6 months, and Restylane-L lasts between 6 and 9 months.
Sculptra can last for 24 months or more, as its collagen-building formula works to promote natural collagen production.
Most patient Versa results last for at least 6 months and up to a year.

Are fillers better than Botox?
Whether fillers are better than Botox is subjective from person to person. Fillers can be a better fit than Botox, depending on your individual concerns and desired results, and the same goes for Botox!
Consider what each type of injectable improves
Botox and other neurotoxins relax the muscles to stop lines and creases from forming. They don’t “freeze” your face, but they do smooth out the skin by inhibiting excessive muscle movement.
Botox and other forms of neurotoxins improve:
- Forehead lines and wrinkles
- 11s / frown lines
- Crow’s feet
- Chin wrinkles / marionette lines
- Neck bands
- Bunny lines
- Lip lines
- Gummy smile
- Brow lift
- Lip flip
- TMJ (jaw pain)
- Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
- Bulging Masseter muscles

Face fillers like Bellafill and others use hyaluronic acid formulas to gently enhance the volume underneath your skin to restore a youthful appearance or add definition.
Fillers can improve:
- Mild creases, lines, and wrinkles
- Vertical lip lines
- Thin or asymmetrical lips
- Undefined or sagging cheeks
- Facial hollowness
- Deep wrinkles & lines
- Indented scars
- Parentheses lines / laugh lines
- Facial volume loss
- Jowling
How do I know if I need Botox or fillers?
The best way to learn if you need Botox or fillers is through an in-depth consultation with an experienced injection specialist. While no one “needs” these treatments, we do assess how much you’ll need based on your desired results, unique anatomy, and realistic expectations.
The best way to find out whether fillers or Botox are right for you is with a consultation so we can work together to meet your goals! Sometimes we may even recommend a combination of both fillers and Botox for the best results possible.
How much filler do I need?
You may know you want face fillers in Dallas, but how much do you need? This is one of the most common questions we get, because it affects price and of course, the final outcome.
The biggest determining factor for how much filler you need is your goals. At Spa in the City, we are big on honest transparency with our clients, and we will let you know how much is too much. Our goal is to make our clients happy with natural, beautiful results that don’t look overdone.
For example:
If your lips are very thin at the start and you’re looking for a pretty significant change, we might recommend 1 full syringe (1 mL) or more of filler or more to get you to that result over several sessions. If your lips are naturally full and it’s only a slight enhancement, we’ll recommend less.
This logic also goes for other treatment areas. If you’ve lost a lot of volume with age and want to rejuvenate hollow areas like the cheeks or temples, it’ll require a certain amount of filler for the best impact. Other small, delicate places like hollow tear troughs may require less face filler.
How much is 1 syringe of filler?
A full syringe of filler sounds like a lot to most people. If you don’t have the context to know how much this is, it’s very understandable! We find there is a lot of confusion when it comes down to the actual amount.
For most filler brands, 1 syringe = 1 mL. 1 mL is equivalent to roughly 1/5 of a teaspoon and 1 cubic centimeter, so it’s not the large amount many people assume it is!
Not every client will get 1 full syringe of filler for their treatment, and a lot may get more than 1 to achieve the best results possible. It all depends on many factors that we take into consideration as we create custom dermal filler treatment plans for our clients.
What kind of fillers do you carry?
We carry several brands of fillers and use them for different purposes:
A Quick Guide to Spa in the City’s Filler Offerings
Bellafill
We inject Bellafill, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel, into the skin in tiny amounts to replace lost volume, lifting and smoothing out unwanted wrinkles. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Bellafill for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, the lines between the nose, and around the mouth.
Juvéderm Family of Products
The range of Juvéderm fillers can smooth out folds and wrinkles, provide lip enhancement, and shape facial contours. We most commonly treat the cheeks, nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of the mouth), marionette lines, and lips.
Radiesse
Radiesse can restore volume and correct laugh lines around the nose and mouth, helping you reclaim your youthful smile. This formula immediately restores volume and addresses moderate to severe laugh lines. Additionally, Radiesse stimulates the body’s production of collagen to improve your skin’s structure for the long term.
Restylane Family of Products
Hyaluronic acid–a naturally occurring molecule in the body that binds moisture–plays a vital role in how Restylane’s products work. As we use Restylane filler into the treatment area(s), it immediately begins locking moisture together, replenishing volume in the skin and creating natural-looking results.
Sculptra
The formula of Sculptura uses poly-L-lactic collagen stimulators that can absorb into the dermis, where your skin cells generate, eventually growing outward to the surface of your skin.
Versa
Versa is a dermal filler specifically designed to target and reduce a variety of mild-to-moderate facial lines and wrinkles along with adding volume to cheeks and giving lips a beautiful fullness.
