Josanne started Spa in the City over 10 years ago in one little room inside the offices of Vernon and Walrep OB/GYN in Medical City. What started out as a one person operation quickly turned into much more. Now several moves later Spa in the City has grown to a staff of 10 and 7 treatment rooms.

Josanne started out doing electrolysis and facials then eventually added permanent make-up before moving into the realm of a true medspa when Spa in the City was born. With over 30 years of experience in the field of beauty she never has stopped learning and growing. “It’s fun to see clients I did electrolysis on years ago now bringing their daughters in for laser hair removal!”

Josanne takes a caring approach to aesthetics…both visually and financially. She created Spa in the City’s unique VIP Membership that is now copied all around the metroplex but NEVER with all the same features in an effort to allow clients to treat all their needs affordably. Visually Josanne is known for a natural, pro-youth approach to injectables. “I want client’s to see a younger looking version of themselves in the mirror, not a stranger.”

Laurisa Lara
Laurisa has been a Licensed Aesthetician since 03’ and loves the med spa environment—

Since an injury in 2021 Laurisa has transitioned to an assistant role helping Josanne with her day to day tasks, answering clients questions,and just being wherever is needed.

She has been married to her husband Joe since 08’ and together they have a son named Elias and a daughter named Vivienne.

Kendra Kendra

Kendra has been a licensed Esthetician since 2007. She has a love for skincare, takes pride in her work and truly enjoys helping clients look and feel their best.

When she’s not helping to save the world from wrinkles, she is busy taking care if her family, including 3 children and her cat, Luna.

Dr. Dee L. Martinez
got his undergraduate from Texas A&M (WHOOP) and went on to the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio in 1992 to get his medical degree. Dr Martinez takes a very active hands-on daily role as Medical Director….always available to the entire team at Spa in the City.

Dionne Fawcett

Dionne, a proud Dallas native, brings over 7 years of experience in the beauty and aesthetics industry to Spa in the City. Her diverse career spans luxury fitness, beauty brands and 5-start hospitality, where she has honed her expertise in providing exceptional, high-touch service in upscale environments. Dionne believes that it takes a talent, dedicated team to help clients achieve their best selves and she is thrilled to be a part of the Spa in the City family where passion and excellance come together to create an unparceled experience.

Outside of the Spa, Dionne enjoys exploring Dallas’ vibrant dining scene with friends and family or trying out new fitness and hobby classes. Her favorite way to unwind is by spending time with her cocker spaniels, Punkin Brewster and Pookie Monster.

Sally Chan

Meet Sally Faye.  She has been in the aesthetic industry for over 5 years. Ever since she was in her teens she has suffered with acne and hyperpigmentation. Sally Faye has made it her life’s work to help others who suffer with the same afflictions and as we know in Texas more than 80% of us suffer with uneven skin tone due to extrinsic reasons.

Now in her 40s and a mom, she has realized how important self-care is so she can truly age beautifully and more confidently. Another my goal is to help educate clients about proper treatment and home care to achieve individual goals.  The more we utilize self-care the more beautiful our skin will be.  We only have this one skin…. let’s take care of it .

Sofia Muhall

Meet Sofia 🙂 

Sofia has been in the beauty industry for 9 years and is looking to pursue a career change and potentially becoming an injector in the near future.

Sofia started working the front desk at Spa in the City in Dallas and immediately fell in love with the industry.

Aside from beauty her interests vary from drawing, sculpting, reading to collecting taxidermy. 

She is very much a home body, and enjoys spending  weekends with her boyfriend and her pup, Whiskey!

Alanna

Alana moved from New York in 2020 with her husband Josh. She has always had a passion for the beauty industry, inspired by her background in modeling and pageants.

Alanna has two dogs and enjoys staying connected with the latest advancements in skincare and aesthetic treatments.

Her favorite procedure is the Total Skin Solution.

Julia Messineo 

Julia is a psychiatric physician associate who treats both adults and children. She has several years of experience working in psychiatry, and has treated patients from all age groups and various socioeconomic backgrounds.

Ms. Messineo was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate schooling at Le Moyne College, a private Jesuit college located in Syracuse, New York. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, and graduated with Magna Cum Laude. Shortly after graduating, she relocated to Dallas, Texas where she commenced her role as a physician associate.

While Julia maintains her role in outpatient psychiatry, she added on a new role as an aesthetic injector here at Spa In The City in 2022. Interestingly enough, aesthetics was always Julia’s primary specialty of choice. Psychiatry became an incidental passion as she chose this specialty as an alternative shortly after completing her graduate program. Aesthetic injector positions were limited at the time but she understood the value this type of experience would bring to all specialties of medicine she practices, aesthetics included! Julia is experienced in Botox and PDO thread treatments, as well as Semaglutide and Tirzepatide (GLP-1 agonist) consultations and management. She is a valued team member always striving to learn more, and is actively training on dermal filler and regenerative treatment procedures

Julia has various other interests. She is fascinated by the field of integrative and holistic medicine and intends to further her knowledge and experience in these areas. She enjoys spending time with her three dogs. She loves the sun and warmth, hence her big transition from New York to Texas, and enjoys spending most of her time being active outdoors. Sushi is her favorite food and she knows all the good spots around town if you’re looking for a quality sushi roll. It is safe to say Texas is her new home. She has put her roots down and hopes to raise a family here in Dallas someday. Needless to say, she is here for the long haul and ready with open arms to provide the quality care you and your loved ones deserve.

Lauren

Lauren’s passion is everything aesthetic second only to her adoring husband. Lauren is eagerly awaiting the beginning of the next phase of her career as she begins NP school to be the best injector she can be.
