What to Expect from botox treatment
Because there is no sedative or anesthetic used with botox injections, patients can return to normal activities immediately after botox treatment.
Since the active ingredient in Botox has to bind to the nerve receptors to relax the facial muscles, full results may take 10 to 14 days to appear. As the facial muscles relax over the next few months, fine lines and wrinkles will continue to soften and new ones cannot form. All neuromodulators must be repeated regularly for best results.
No two patients metabolize Botox the same. Many experience the effects of Botox treatments for 3 to 4 months. When the product wears off, the wrinkles begin to reappear; however, they frequently are not as deep as the original creases.
