Last week, the sun set on the 2017 Spring/Summer Shows at New York Fashion Week. It’s always great fun to take a peek at the clothing we will be coveting come springtime, and just as much fun to see how the designers style hair and makeup as part of their head to toe looks. We are always looking for new, interesting beauty trends, and we absolutely loved what we saw!
Here are some of our favorite spring runway beauty trends that can be embraced right now:
Always a favorite of ours, the less is more look highlights healthy, glowing, “I woke up like this” skin. Think fresh, dewy makeup in nudes and pale pinks balanced by a strong brow. The runway show at Band of Outsiders illustrated this look to perfection.
We love a bold lip, and the matte, two-toned lips in punchy, brights shades we saw at Cushnie et Ochs and Jason Wu gave us chills. This classic red top lip gets serious depth of color from a popping pink bottom lip. If you’re reluctant to take the plunge with a bright shade, ease yourself into this trend with a multi-tonal lipstick. Gorgeous!
Everyone needs an easy, chic hair knot option and we love this refined version we saw on the Pamela Rolland runway. Easy enough for every day, chic enough for a night out. Start with glossy styling cream for shine, create a top and bottom ponytail, and twist around both bases. Add an oversized hair accessory for some instant glamour. Voila!
Surfer Girl Beach Hair
At Alexander Wang, the legendary stylist Guido Paulo ran a razor through the ends of the models’ bobs to achieved a jagged, ‘surfer girl’ finish. Roots were left darker for a sun-kissed effect, while breezy beach waves were created with texturizing salt spray. Think this trend is just for summer? Think again. Throw on a cream-colored turtleneck and some well cut pants and you’re instantly chic and ready for the crisp fall air.
The bold orange nails at Tibi were a fantastic pop of color – perfect for this warm-to-cooler weather transition.
Don’t wait for spring to jump on these fantastic beauty trends. They’re too good to save for later!
